The controls are about a 7 out of 10 - not at all what I expected, such as storing presets and such. I HATE reading the manual, and I had to. Damn you. Still...Everything worked. Can't complain about it, and I'll get used to the quirks. Anyway, that contributes to the 4 out of 5, and really, I'd give it 9 out of 10 if I could. First - Bought it from Electronics Expo. They were REALLY cheap and REALLY fast. A complete home run - I will buy from them any time. A+ Now, the review: IN THE CAR. 1 - Install. This kit is so easy to put in it's embarrassing. It isn't pretty (if you use the FM transmitter), because wires will show almost no matter what you do, but get out your tools and tuck them into the door sills and frames (gently), under the carpet, and viola! It has many features and I have found no deficits of particular note. This unit came with a home and car hookup and was a great deal since I saw few units with both home and car hookups included. It has a good look and feel, not cheap plastic buttons, etc. All in All, I recommend this receiver bundle: it was a good value, was delivered on time with no problems, and plays very well.XM radio is pretty good (my first time with satellite radio) and has a lot of good songs and programs. But the choice between XM and Sirius is yours, and I wonder what will happen when they merge.
